A Serbian student won IAA-Dentsu Global Student Poster Competition on Biodiversity

Dusan Simic from the University of Arts in Belgrade was named the World Champion, as International Advertising Association (IAA) and Dentsu, with the support of the United Nations Department of Public Information, announced the results of the IAA-Dentsu Global Student Poster Competition with the theme of Biodiversity, according to a press release.

The theme of this year’s competition was biodiversity, in recognition of the impact of environmental issues. The brief asked students to raise awareness of the impact of biodiversity.

Other placed winners have been named as:

  • Worldwide 2nd Place – “Be reconciled with the planet” – Gabriel Andres Acero Rincon, Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano, Colombia
  • Worldwide 3rd Place – “People Power” – Tessa Collins, Edith Cowan University, Australia
  • Regional Winner Asia/Pacific – “Imaginative Creatures” – Tanya Thamphiruk, Assumption University, Thailand
  • Regional Winner Europe – “PACMAN” – Weronika Luiza Kowalska, Academy of Fine Art, Poland
  • Regional Winner Middle East/Africa – “The Whole Picture” – Sally Alzaza, The AmericanUniversity in Dubai, United Arab Emirates
  • Regional Winner Latin America – “Things” – Gonzalo Ponce, Universidad Argentina de la Empresa, Argentina
  • Regional Winner North America – “Be the Start” – Kyle Albrecht, The GeorgeWashingtonUniversity, WashingtonDC, USA

The World Champion will receive her award at a presentation in New York City in July at the United Nations from Kiyo Akasaka, United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Communications and Public Information.

The jury that selected the winners was presided by Tham Khai Meng, Worldwide Creative Director and Chairman of its Creative Council, Ogilvy and Mather Worldwide and included Sam Balsara, Chairman & Managing Director, MADISON WORLD, Mumbai, Diana Verde Nieto, Clownfish, London, Mahesh Salgaokar, Associate Creative Director, Leo Burnett, Dubai, Irene Medina, Creative Director, CAZA de Estrategias Latinoamerica S.C., Mexico, Ryo Honda, Executive Creative Director, Social Projects Planning Division Dentsu and Matias Delfino, Graphic Designer, Outreach Division, Department of Public Information United Nations.
