Propaganda and Publicis, Bronze trophies at Epica Awards
Romanian agencies Propaganda and Publicis were awarded Bronze trophies at this year’s edition of Epica Awards, for radio executions they had in campaigns for Delmar and, respectively, Bucharest City Police.
Propaganda got a Bronze for Radio Advertising with the radio ad “Your Other Half” for Delmar. The team that worked on the radio ad included Andrei Tripsa – Art director and Costin Miu – Copywriter.
Publicis got its trophy for “Text Kills”, part of a campaign for Bucharest City Police. Publicis Romania’s team that worked on the project included Razvan Soare – Copywriter, Razvan Capanescu – Creative Director, Camelia Efrimov – A/V Producer, Bogdan Voinea – Account Manager and Andrei Tatu, Studio Factor – Sound Design.
At this year’s edition of Epica Awards, 6 Romanian agencies / companies participated with 24 entries. The complete number of entries for Epica Awards 2010 was of 3,155 coming from 530 companies from 48 countries.
The film Epica d’Or was won by Aardman Animations, Bristol for the Nokia N8 “Dot” commercial directed by Sumo Science using CellScope technology and produced for Wieden+Kennedy London, while the press Epica d’Or was won by M&C Saatchi, London for the Dixons “The Last Place You Want to Go” campaign. JWT Italy won the Integrated category with Heineken’s “Are You Still With Us?” campaign.
Outdoor Epica d’Or went to Fred & Farid Group Paris for their “Red” campaign for Wrangler, while the ones for Interactive and Mobile went to Brothers & Sisters London for the “Streetmuseum” iPhone App produced for the Museum of London.
Country wise, France got the most awards – 69, followed by Sweden (55), UK (50) and Germany (49). When it comes of agencies, Forsman & Bodenfors Gothenburg was the most successful entrant with 15 awards including 4 winners. It was followed by Serviceplan Gruppe Munich & Hamburg (14), DDB Stockholm (12) and Publicis Conseil Paris (10).
Among networks, Y&R was the most successful agency network – with 8 winners from 4 countries – followed by DDB, Ogilvy, TBWA .
The awards ceremony and conference will take place at the new Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb on January 21st, 2011.
Epica’s aim is to encourage the highest standards of creativity and to help agencies, film production companies media consultancies and photographers to develop their reputations across Europe and the EMEA region. The awards are judged by the advertising trade press and the winners receive widespread media coverage and the best work is published each year in the Epica Book.
In 2010, Epica had 3 new categories: Corporate Image, Branded Content and Public Relations. Before that, the competition categories were TV, Press, Outdoor, Radio, Business-to-Business, Medical, Direct Marketing, Media, Promotions, Photography, Design, Packaging, Interactive and Integrated Campaigns.
